Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to serve as an integral part of the perioperative team. The role may function as first, second, or assisting technician or second circulator under RN supervision. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available.

The ideal candidate will independently scrub basic procedures, apply aseptic principles, and support the OR team to ensure safe, efficient patient care. Carle Health emphasizes teamwork and patient-centered care across its campuses.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or Surgical Technology certificate required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and perioperative care.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment with asepsis.
• Coordinates supplies and equipment for efficient operations.
• Facilitates communication between unit and other departments.
• Documents patient data and orders accurately.
• Prepares patients and assists with transportation as needed.
• Collaborates with surgeons and OR team on trays and instruments.
• Assists with stocking and inventory control.
• Participates in room turnover and instrument sterilization.
