Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the perioperative team, serving as scrub, circulator, or assistant under RN supervision. The role emphasizes asepsis, instrument readiness, and collaboration with surgeons and OR staff.

Responsibilities include equipment organization, documentation, patient transport, and coordination of supplies to maintain cost-efficient, high-quality care within the operating suite.

Qualifications

• Must be able to scrub basic surgical procedures.
• Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, pharmacology.
• Applies principles of sterile technique during procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment and asepsis.
• Organizes supplies and equipment for efficient operations.
• Facilitates communication with nursing staff and other departments.
• Documents data in patient records as required by standards.
• Transcribes orders and schedules tests and exams.
• Assists with patient transport and daily living activities.
