Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology preferred.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program required
• Certification through NCCT or NBSTSA required
• 1-2 years of experience as a Scrub Tech in a Hospital Setting preferred.
• BLS required

Responsibilities

• Applies asepsis principles; performs surgical scrub, gowning and gloving.
• Assembles supplies for the patient and procedure.
• Sets up sterile field and assists in draping and prep.
• Assists surgeon with instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies.
• Maintains instrument and sponge counts with the circulating nurse.
• Maintains aseptic technique and addresses contamination.
• Assists in specimen handling and disposition per policy.
• Inspects and ensures sterility of instruments and supplies.
