Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or related field preferred.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program required.
• Certification through NCCT or NBSTSA required.
• 1-2 years of experience as a Scrub Tech in a Hospital Setting preferred.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Performs surgical scrubs, gowning, and gloving.
• Assembles supplies according to procedure requirements.
• Sets up sterile instrument table and assists in draping.
• Assists surgeon with instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies.
• Maintains accurate count of sponges, needles, and instruments.
• Maintains aseptic technique at all times and corrects contamination.
• Assists with specimen handling and disposition.
• Inspects instruments and packages for sterility and function.
• Receives and labels solutions on the sterile field; verifies with RN.
