Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience assisting in the operating room as a scrub tech or similar role.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and infection control.
• Ability to assist in patient transfer and instrument counts.

Responsibilities

• Checks and gathers instruments for each case using the surgeon's preference card.
• Verifies sterility tapes, dates, and wrapper integrity.
• Opens sterile supplies, maintains a sterile field, and corrects any breaks in technique.
• Performs surgical scrub techniques and gown/glove procedures.
• Arranges instruments, basins, sutures for accurate counts after procedures.
• Assists circulating nurses with counts of sponges, needles, and other devices.
• Passes instruments safely to the surgical team and performs related duties.
