Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining aseptic technique during operations.

• Professional ST certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform aseptic surgical scrubs, gowning, gloving.
• Assemble supplies per patient and procedure.
• Set up sterile instrument table and assist in draping.
• Anticipate surgeon needs for instruments and supplies.
• Maintain correct counts of sponges, needles, and instruments.
• Maintain aseptic technique and handle contamination appropriately.
• Assist with specimen handling and disposition.
• Ensure sterility and functioning of instruments; report malfunctions.
• Label and verify solutions/medications on sterile field.
• Participate in Universal Protocol and fire risk assessment.
• Ensure safety and proper equipment use; communicate issues.
• Maintain organized sterile back table and prep decontamination.
• Assist with OR cleanup; maintain safety and professional relations.
• Pursue continuing education and ST certification.
