Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or related field preferred.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program required.
• Certification through NCCT or NBSTSA required.
• 1-2 years of experience as a Scrub Tech in a Hospital Setting preferred.
• BLS required.

Responsabilités

• Applies aseptic principles; performs surgical scrub, gowning, and gloving.
• Assembles supplies according to patient and procedure requirements.
• Sets up sterile instrument table and assists in draping.
• Assists surgeon by providing instruments, sutures, and supplies.
• Maintains correct counts of sponges, needles, and instruments with circulating nurse.
• Maintains aseptic technique and handles contamination appropriately.
• Assists in handling specimens per policy.
• Inspects instruments and packages for sterility and proper function.
• Receives and labels solutions and medications on the sterile field; verifies with RN.
• Participates in Universal Protocol: sign-in, time-out, sign-out.
• Participates in Fire Risk Assessment and communicates safety measures.
• Reports malfunctioning equipment and ensures safe sequestration until resolved.
• Maintains organized sterile back table and adheres to cleaning standards.

Formation

High School Diploma or equivalent

Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or related field

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program

Certification through NCCT or NBSTSA

1-2 years of experience as a Scrub Tech in a Hospital Setting
