NYU Langone Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the LOC 38th St 10th FL OR-Day Shift (37.5 Hours). Under the direction of a licensed nurse, scrub on all surgical procedures in the Operating Room and assist physicians in procedural areas.

The role requires NBSTSA Surgical Technologist certification, BLS, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Preference for OR orthopedic experience and NYU Surgical Tech Program graduates.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
• Graduate of NBSTSA-accredited Surgical Technologist program; certification required on hire.
• Preferred: NYU Surgical Tech Program graduate; OR orthopedic experience.

Aufgaben

• Takes initiative to make recommendations to leadership for new and updates for Physician preference cards timely and accurately for a patient/physician.
• Assists on procedures as a secondary circulator under the supervision of the circulating RN.
• Ensures specimens are appropriately identified and labeled in collaboration with the RN.
• Participates in quality and safety programs, data collection, and performance improvement projects.
• Gives thorough reports to RN Circulator and leadership concerning counts, equipment, and outcomes.
• Engages in staff development and orientation of new scrub team members.
