Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the ACC 21 OR-Day Shift (37.5 hours). Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, you will scrub on all surgical procedures and assist physicians in procedural areas.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS, and NBSTSA-accredited surgical technologist certification upon hire. Preferred candidates have 1–2 years in a large OR, and NYU Langone programs are highlighted.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
• Graduate of NBSTSA-accredited Surgical Technologist program; certification required upon hire.
• Preferred: 1–2 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist in a large complex OR; NYU Surgical Tech Program graduate.

Responsibilities

• Scrub on all surgical procedures in the Operating Room under the direction of a licensed professional nurse.
• Assist physicians in procedural areas.
• Prepare and anticipate supplies and equipment based on procedure cards and coordinate with RN Circulator.
• Assist as a secondary circulator and communicate any issues to RN staff/leadership.
• Support quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives in the surgical unit.
