Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to scrub in the Operating Room under the direction of a licensed professional nurse for the 38th Street OR, 10th floor, Evening Shift (37.5 hours).

The successful candidate will assist on procedures, prepare instruments, identify specimens, and support safety and quality initiatives. NBSTSA certification, BLS, and graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program are required; local NYU Langone experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of NBSTSA-accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Scrub on all surgical procedures in the Operating Room under the direction of a licensed professional nurse.
• Assist the physician in procedural areas as a secondary circulator.
• Anticipate and gather needed supplies and equipment based on procedure or preference card.
• Maintain knowledge of instrument care and maintenance and report any issues.
