Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is seeking a Surgical Technologist to scrub on procedures in the OR and assist physicians under RN supervision in the Ambulatory Surgical Center Brooklyn. This role requires BLS and NBSTSA-approved program completion, with certification due on hire.

You will support instrument handling, prepares supplies per procedure cards, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety, sterile technique, and timely case flow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
• Graduate of NBSTSA-accredited Surgical Technologist program; certification required on hire.
• Preferred: 1–2 years CST experience; NYU Surgical Tech Program graduate.

Responsibilities

• Scrub on all surgical procedures in the OR and assist the physician.
• Assist as secondary circulator under RN supervision.
• Prepare supplies and equipment per procedure card; ensure sterility.
• Report events promptly to RN staff; support safety and quality goals.
• Participate in ongoing training and clinical preceptor activities.
