Job summary

NYU Langone Health is hiring a Surgical Technologist for the 38th St location, 10th Floor OR, Evening Shift (37.5 hours). Under the direction of a licensed professional nurse, scrub on all surgical procedures and assist the physician in procedural areas.

The role requires graduation from an NBSTSA-accredited Surgical Technologist program with certification upon hire; BLS is required. Prior OR orthopedic experience is a plus. NYU Langone supports ongoing learning and professional growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; BLS required.
• Graduate of NBSTSA accredited Surgical Technologist program; certification required upon hire.
• Preferred: 1–2 years of OR orthopedic/sports medicine experience; NYU Surgical Tech Program graduate.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Scrub on all surgical procedures in the Operating Room and assist the physician in procedural areas.
• Prepare, gather, and organize instruments and supplies prior to procedures; assist as secondary circulator.
• Report counts, specimen handling, and aseptic technique issues to the RN Circulator and team.
• Participate in safety, quality, and performance improvement initiatives and adhere to standards.
