Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist 2 to assist the surgical team under RN supervision. The role involves preparing the operative site, maintaining sterile technique, and ensuring instruments and supplies are ready and functional throughout procedures.

The position requires adherence to infection control guidelines, knowledge of surgical instrumentation, and effective communication with surgeons and staff.

Qualifications

• Infection prevention knowledge and adherence to regulatory sterilization standards.
• Understanding sterile and aseptic technique and procedures.
• Knowledge of human anatomy and surgical procedures for assisting surgeons.
• Strong verbal and written communication within surgical teams.

Responsabilités

• Discuss special needs with the surgeon prior to surgery and scrub in.
• Prepare operative site and clip patient as needed.
• Maintain instrument table and arrange sterile setup for procedures.
• Identify damaged trays and rectify discrepancies to avoid delays.
• Ensure proper functioning of instruments, equipment and supplies during surgery.
• Perform surgical counts and assist with patient positioning and draping.
