Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health seeks a Surgical Technologist 2 to support the operating room team under a Registered Nurse's supervision. You will prepare instruments, scrub into procedures, and ensure a safe, efficient surgical environment.

Ideal candidates have a CST certification, graduate from an accredited program, and strong teamwork skills to contribute to infection control within a large Texas health system.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Experience of less than 1 year in the role preferred.
• Certification as CST required; NBSTSA or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Discuss special needs with surgeon before surgery.
• Scrub into surgery and prepare instruments for the procedure.
• Prepare and maintain instrument tables in an organized way.
• Identify damaged or incomplete trays and rectify discrepancies.
• Set up OR based on schedule and ensure sterile setup.
• Ensure proper functioning of instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Perform surgical counts and assist with draping and positioning.
