Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health seeks a Surgical Technologist 2 to support the operating room team under RN supervision. You will prepare sites, maintain sterile fields, and assist with instruments to ensure safe, efficient procedures.

Responsibilities include instrument counts, passing supplies, positioning patients, and post-case decontamination, in a regulated, high‑quality environment designed to protect patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited program and CST certification is required.
• Military/Public Health Service ST training or prior ST work before 9/1/2009 may suffice.
• Experience in a health care facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team with instrument setup and sterile field maintenance.
• Prepare operative site and instrument tables for scheduled procedures.
• Maintain instrument counts and ensure equipment function during surgery.
• Pass sterile supplies to surgeons and assist with patient positioning.
• Disassemble and decontaminate instruments after procedures, following protocol.
