Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas is seeking a Surgical Technologist 2 to support the operating room team under RN supervision. You will prepare the operative site, aseptically handle instruments, and ensure instrument readiness and safety throughout procedures.

The role requires CST certification, adherence to infection control guidelines, and collaboration with surgeons and nurses. A strong attention to detail and effective communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: Grad of an Accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Experience: Less than 1 year of experience preferred.
• Certification/License: BLS and CST certification as required.

Responsibilities

• Discuss special needs with the surgeon before surgery and scrub in.
• Prepare operative site and clip the patient as needed.
• Maintain instrument table and ensure proper counts and tray readiness.
• Identify damaged or incomplete trays and rectify discrepancies.
• Set up OR per procedure, arrange sterile instruments and supplies.
• Ensure proper functioning of instruments and equipment during procedures.
• Assist with draping, positioning, and passing supplies to the surgical team.
• Receive and handle surgical specimens per protocol and maintain sterile field.
