Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas is seeking a Surgical Technologist 2 to assist in the operating room under RN supervision. You will help prepare instruments, maintain sterility, and support the surgical team to ensure a safe operating environment.

Responsibilities include instrument setup before surgery, aseptic handling, and assisting with draping, positioning, and specimen handling. BLS and CST certification are required or anticipated within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program.
• Certification as CST by NBSTSA or equivalent.
• BLS certification required at hire or within 30 days.
• Less than 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and team with sterile setup before procedures.
• Prepare and maintain instrument tables and supplies.
• Ensure proper functioning and handling of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Perform counts of sharps, sponges, and instruments per protocol.
• Assist with draping, positioning, and specimen handling during surgery.
