Qualifications

• Requires graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Certification as CST (NBSTSA/NCCT) required or equivalent.
• BLS certification required; must be current or within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team by preparing and maintaining instrument tables.
• Scrub in with the team and ensure aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Assist with draping, patient positioning, and passing sterile instruments as needed.
• Ensure proper instrument counts and manage specimen handling per protocol.
• Maintain room cleanliness and prepare supplies/equipment for each case.
• Follow infection control, AORN guidelines, and OSHA regulations to ensure safety.
