Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Cedar Park, TX is seeking a Surgical Technician III to assist in surgeries during the operation phase. You will support a Registered Nurse by preparing equipment and instruments to improve efficiency and safety in the operating room.

You will manage supplies for a specific surgical service line, coordinate with surgeons and team members, perform instrument counts, maintain setup, and ensure aseptic conditions in accordance with OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Grad of an Accredited Program.
• 2 years of experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
• Cert Surgical Technologist (CST): If candidate completed military/Public Health Service ST training or worked as an ST before 9/1/2009 → HS/GED is sufficient. Otherwise, candidate must have both GAP (accredited ST program) and current CST (NBSTSA or NCCT).

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon by preparing equipment and instruments before and during procedures.
• Maintain instrument table setup and prevent instrument damage.
• Ensure all surgical instruments and supplies function properly during procedures.
• Perform counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments per policy.
• Coordinate with the surgical team and manage supplies and equipment.
• Adhere to infection control policies and OSHA guidelines.
