Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Surgical Technician 3 to support operating room teams in Texas. You will help prepare and manage equipment, ensure sterile technique, and coordinate communication between surgeons and staff to maintain an efficient, safe workflow.

Responsibilities include instrument handling, case preparation, and adherence to infection control and regulatory standards. Qualifications require an accredited program graduate, 2 years of experience, and BLS/CST certification

Qualifications

• Education: Grad of an Accredited Program.
• Experience: 2 Years of Experience.
• Certification/Registration: BLS required; CST certification per NBSTSA/NCCT.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon and prepare for procedures.
• Clean and prepare the surgical area and instruments.
• Maintain instrument table setup and prevent instrument damage.
• Perform counts of surgical items (sponges, sharps, instruments) per policy.
• Anticipate needs of surgeon and team, providing sterile supplies as needed.
• Assist in draping and repositioning the patient for surgery.
• Adhere to infection control policies and OSHA guidelines.
• Manage inventory of sterilized equipment per regulations.
