Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Surgical Technician 3 to support operating room procedures in a fast-paced surgical service line. You will assist the Registered Nurse, manage supplies and equipment, and help ensure a safe, efficient operating environment.

Responsibilities include preparing the surgical area, maintaining sterility, counting items, and coordinating with surgeons and team members. A strong focus on infection control and regulatory compliance is required.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a surgical tech role.
• BLS certification required or within 30 days of hire.
• Surgical Tech CST certification per NBSTSA/NCCT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon and RN during operations.
• Prepare and organize instruments and equipment before procedures.
• Maintain instrument tables and ensure proper setup.
• Count items (sponges, sharps, instruments) per policy.
• Anticipate needs of surgical team and provide sterile supplies.
