Job summary

Carle Health in Milwaukee seeks a Surgical Technician to join the perioperative team as the first, second, or assisting technician or second circulator under the direct supervision of the registered nurse (RN).

You will scrub basic procedures, maintain sterile technique, assist with supplies and instrumentation, and support room turnover while coordinating with the surgeons and OR staff.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days required (AHA).
• Ability to scrubs basic surgical procedures and solve procedure-related problems.
• Foundational knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology and pharmacology.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile environment and asepsis with competency in technic and psychomotor skills.
• Assist with supplies, equipment, and communication across the unit.
• Document patient data and transcribe orders per unit standards.
• Prepare patients for transport and assist with daily living activities.
• Collaborate with surgeons and OR team to ensure ready trays and instrumentation.
