Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the perioperative team as a scrub tech, second circulator, or assisting technician under RN supervision. The role emphasizes aseptic technique, communication across units, and efficient handling of supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities include maintaining sterile environment, assisting with patient care, and coordinating with surgeons and OR staff to ensure readiness of trays and instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures.
• Demonstrates ability to problem solve in relation to the procedure being performed.
• Applies basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology for patient care.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment using aseptic technique.
• Organizes supplies and equipment for efficiency and cost control.
• Facilitates communication between nursing units and other departments.
