Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced Surgical Technician to join the perioperative team as a scrub, assistant, or second circulator under RN supervision. The role emphasizes asepsis, accurate documentation, and collaboration with surgeons and OR staff.

Requirements include an Associate’s Degree or Surgical Technology certification and BLS certification within 30 days. Flexible staffing and relocation/sign-on bonus options are available.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate’s Degree or Surgical Technology certification.
• BLS certification through AHA preferred; must obtain within 30 days.
• Knowledge of asepsis, sterile technique, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile environment and aseptic technique in procedures.
• Coordinate supplies and equipment to keep department efficient and cost-effective.
• Liaise with nursing and OR teams to ensure timely availability of trays and instruments.
• Document patient data and orders accurately in charts and records.
• Assist with patient mobility, transport, and activities of daily living as needed.
• Support quality improvement, infection control, and supply chain activities.
