Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the perioperative team under RN supervision. This role can function as first, second, or assisting technician and may serve as a second circulator depending on the case.

Requirements include an Associate's Degree or Certification in Surgical Technology and BLS certification within 30 days. The position involves aseptic practice, instrument handling, and collaboration with surgeons and OR staff to ensure patient safety and efficient procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment and aseptic technique.
• Organizes supplies and equipment for efficient operation.
• Communicates with nursing staff and OR team to coordinate patient care.
• Documents patient information, procedures, and orders accurately.
• Assists with room turnover and instrument prep.
• Supports infection control and quality improvement initiatives.
