Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to support perioperative teams in the operating room. You may scrub, circulate, or assist as a second circulator under RN supervision in a dynamic surgical environment.

Candidates should have an Associate’s Degree or Surgical Technology credentials, plus BLS, and demonstrate strong sterile technique and patient care skills for obstetrical and other procedures.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to maintain a sterile environment and aseptic technique.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology and microbiology.
• Experience supporting perioperative teams and operating room procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain asepsis and sterile field; assist in basic surgical procedures.
• Coordinate supplies and equipment for efficient department operations.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff and physicians.
• Document patient data and orders in charting systems per standards.
• Assist with counts, specimen labeling and specimen handling.
• Assist with room turnover and instrument sterilization.
