Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the perioperative team. The role supports first/second scrub or circulator duties under RN supervision, performing aseptic technique and patient care across procedures.

Qualifications include an Associate's Degree or Surgical Technology credential, and BLS. The position emphasizes teamwork, communication, and efficient instrument handling within a busy OR.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or certificate in surgical technology required.
• Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures and applies sterile technique.
• Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology and pharmacology for patient care.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment and asepsis.
• Assists in organizing supplies and equipment for efficiency.
• Facilitates communication between units and departments.
• Documents patient data and medical orders per standards.
• Transcribes orders and schedules tests and appointments.
• Prepares patients for transport and assists with ADLs.
• Maintains patient charts and logs; ensures accurate charges.
