Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the perioperative team as a scrub, second assistant or second circulator under the direct supervision of the RN. The role emphasizes sterile technique, coordination of supplies, and collaboration with the OR team.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate’s Degree or Surgical Technology certificate, and a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or Surgical Technology certificate required.
• BLS certification preferred; within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Applies asepsis to maintain a sterile environment.
• Organizes supplies and equipment for efficient department operation.
• Collaborates with surgeons and OR team to ensure trays and instrumentation are ready.
• Transcribes orders and documents in patient records as directed.
• Prep patient and participate in Time Out; assist with room turnover.
