Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL is hiring a Patient Procedure Scheduler to manage scheduling for surgical and pre-operative procedures. You will register patients, verify insurance, obtain pre-certifications and guide patients on procedures.

This role may also support check-in/out and patient correspondence as needed. Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, 2 years of healthcare experience, and customer service experience; a Bachelor's degree or EMR experience

Qualifications

Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
2 years previous healthcare experience.
Experience in a customer service role.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree.
Previous experience with an electronic medical records system.

Responsibilities

Registers and schedules patients for surgical and pre-operative procedures.
Inform patients of their financial responsibilities.
Provide patients with surgical and procedural information and instructions as appropriate.
Obtains and/or facilitates pre-certification as required.
Maintains calendars and schedules related to surgical and pre-operative procedures.
Answers all incoming patient inquiries.
May perform other duties as assigned.
