Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY seeks a patient access coordinator to greet patients, schedule surgical bookings, and assemble the full surgical packets. You will work with physicians, patients, and insurance to ensure clearances, consents, and timely communication throughout the process.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2–3 years’ office experience or 1 year in a medical practice, and proficiency with EHR and MS Office. Excellent customer service and multitasking are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2-3 years of office experience or 1 year of related medical office experience preferred.
• Experience using an electronic health record and Microsoft Office is a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to multi-task in a high-volume unit.
• Strong time management, judgment, and problem-solving abilities.
• Good teamwork and work ethic.

Responsabilités

• Greet patients in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
• Initiate surgical booking process and compile booking sheets and packets.
• Coordinate with surgeons, patients, and insurance to ensure clearances and dates.
• Prepare disability/leave documentation and obtain necessary consents and releases.
• Update registration, scheduling, and insurance information across systems.
• Explain financial obligations and regulatory forms; answer patient questions.
• Support clinical workflow and ensure patient safety and service quality.
