A prominent healthcare provider is seeking a Hospital Coder to apply coding skills for inpatient services. This position entails using a computerized encoding system and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Ideal candidates should have a High School Diploma, relevant coding certifications, and proficiency in ICD-10 codes. This fully remote role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently, focusing on accuracy and detail in coding practices.
Department/Unit: Health Information Services
Work Shift: Day (United States of America)
Salary Range: $55,895.80 - $83,843.71
The Hospital Coder applies skills and knowledge of currently mandated inpatient coding and classification systems, and official resources to select the appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes (PCS), and other codes representing healthcare services (including substances, equipment, supplies, or other items used in the provision of healthcare services). This position is responsible for selecting and sequencing the codes such that the organization receives the optimal reimbursement to which the facility is legally entitled, remembering that it is unethical and illegal to increase reimbursement by means that contradict requirements.
