Job summary

Care New England is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to manage surgical and physician schedules across our network. You will coordinate with hospitals for pre‑op testing and clearances, triage patient calls, and prepare charts and records for procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least six months of related experience, and a demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. On-site position in Providence, RI.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum of six months of related job experience or equivalent is required.
• Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and ability to calculate and collect cash transactions.
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills, including excellent communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with staff, physicians and patients in a courteous manner.

Responsibilities

• Maintain surgical schedules for the practice and obtain authorizations when needed.
• Coordinate with hospitals to schedule all patient pre‑op testing and medical clearances.
• Triage patient phone calls for office visits, tests, surgeries, and other encounters.
• Prepare patients’ charts and file related patient records.
• Contact and confirm dates and time of procedures with patients.
• Maintain the physician’s weekly schedule and coordinate academic meetings, including travel arrangements.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned.
