Job summary

Tenet Physician Resources is seeking a dedicated healthcare professional to manage the surgery process, verify insurance, and coordinate pre-operative steps. You will schedule labs and coordinate post-surgery care, ensuring smooth patient flow and adherence to policies.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED with a Medical Assistant program, CMA is preferred, CPR required, and at least 5 years in a physician office with scheduling experience; local travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED with accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• CMA preferred; CPR required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a physician office with surgery scheduling.
• Occasional local travel to support other offices.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Tenet Physician Resources mission and compliance programs.
• Triage surgical candidates as required by physicians.
• Educate patients about planned surgery.
• Verify insurance information in the electronic system.
• Obtain insurance authorizations prior to surgery.
• Coordinate preoperative testing with surgeons and hospital protocols.
• Work with hospital personnel to obtain surgery scheduling information.
• Confirm and reschedule return appointments as necessary.
• Notify manager of patient account and insurance issues.
• Provide assistance to administrative or clinical staff; other duties as assigned.
