Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in a medical office setting.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding and third-party billing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and calendar management in Outlook.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all surgical procedures and ensure required paperwork is completed.
• Maintain accuracy of Physician Outlook Calendar and reflect scheduled surgeries.
• Coordinate preoperative and postoperative directions and post-op visit appointments.
• Obtain required authorizations for procedures.
• Facilitate in-patient admissions from the office.
• Review insurance requirements including out-of-pocket costs with patients.
• Make confirmation calls prior to procedure dates.
• Verify all surgical cases are entered into the practice management system for reimbursement.
• Triage and respond to telephone calls courteously and document messages in the EMR.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Practice Manager.
