Job summary

Carle Health’s NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit provides specialized care for acute and chronic digestive surgical patients in a high-acuity setting. The RN opportunity emphasizes post-operative management, complex wound care, ostomy education, and collaboration with surgical residents and OMFS.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with Illinois IDFPR
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - AHA
• HS Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Perform unit-specific nursing duties per scope of service.
• Document nursing care accurately for healthcare team.
• Conduct initial patient assessment and develop care plans.
• Implement and adjust care plans based on patient response.
• Ensure patient and staff safety and report hazards.
• Provide post-operative care and manage complex wounds.
• Educate patients and families on ostomies and wound care.
• Collaborate with surgical residency teams and OMFS.
