Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit. The unit is a 43-bed, high-acuity area with bariatric certification and close collaboration with surgical residents and OMFS. Sign-on bonus of $10,000 for external applicants committing to 3 years, with relocation offers available.

Responsibilities include postoperative and complex wound care, ostomy management, and multidisciplinary communication to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois or eligible for licensure
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire (AHA)
• RN with at least 1 year of experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities and duties required by the unit, including postoperative and critical care tasks.
• Maintains up-to-date documentation for care plans and patient progress for the healthcare team.
• Provides post-operative care and manages complex wounds, ostomies, and airway devices.
• Collaborates with surgical residents and OMFS teams to ensure safe, high-quality care.
