Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced registered nurse for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit. The unit supports acute and chronic digestive surgical patients, with a high-acuity environment and collaboration with surgical residents and OMFS services.

This role offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants and relocation stipends for distances over 100 miles, plus a $2,500 BSN bonus. License and BLS requirements apply, with H.S. diploma or GED as educational baseline.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois with IDFPR license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - AHA.

Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service.
• Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Maintains up-to-date documentation of nursing care for the health care team.
• Completes initial assessment on admission and develops plan of care.
• Implements and adjusts care plan with continuous evaluation.
• Ensures patient and employee safety and reports hazards.
• Provides post-operative care for complex surgical patients and manages wounds/ostomies as applicable.
• Collaborates with surgical residency and OMFS services.
