Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit. The role focuses on post-operative care for complex digestive surgical patients in a high-acuity, trauma-informed setting.

Responsibilities include initial assessment, care planning, wound and ostomy management, tracheostomy care, and cross-curgical collaboration with residents and attendings. Sign-on bonus for external applicants and relocation incentives are offered.

Qualifications

• RN license required (IDFPR IL)
• BLS certification within 30 days - AHA
• H.S. Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Performs unit-specific nursing duties and care.
• Maintains up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
• Completes initial patient assessment and develops plan of care.
• Implements and modifies plan of care as needed.
• Ensures patient and staff safety; communicates to resolve issues.
• Provides post-operative care for complex surgical patients.
• Cares for tracheostomies and wound management including wound vacs and ostomies.
