Job summary

BD Interventional’s Surgery unit seeks a field-based Sales Specialist responsible for driving territory sales, growing existing accounts, and building new ones. You will act as a product specialist, educate surgeons and OR staff, and ensure proper use of BD products.

Travel is extensive, with on-site customer engagements, trainings, and participation in trade shows as needed. A Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of medical device sales experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 3 years of sales experience, preferably in medical/healthcare industry.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong understanding of sales strategies, contract administration, and group purchasing principles.
• Ability to travel extensively, including overnight stays, within your assigned territory.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license and meet BD’s auto safety standards.
• Willingness to undergo regular drug screenings as per customer/medical facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Attain sales goals within the designated territory and budget.
• Grow sales of current accounts and establish new accounts.
• Position yourself as a product specialist to surgeons, OR staff and other stakeholders.
• Provide on-site technical support during procedures and training for physicians and hospital staff.
• Ensure surgeons and staff have current product information and effective utilization of products.
