Job summary

Milliman’s U.S. Property & Casualty practices welcome motivated actuarial students to join us as Actuarial Interns for Summer 2027! Over 10-12 weeks, you’ll learn about pricing and reserving analyses across auto, homeowners, mortgage, workers’ compensation, general liability, and more.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with real actuarial projects, networking, and professional skill development. You'll build strong technical skills in Excel, R, Python, SQL, VBA, PowerBI, and collaborate with

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related quantitative field, with at least one semester remaining.
• At least one actuarial exam passed at the time of application.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and other MS Office tools.
• Experience with programming or statistical tools (R, Python, SAS, VBA) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with project teams on data analyses, create portions of client deliverables, perform technical review (“checking”).
• Develop professional skills such as communication, task management, and presenting.
• Collaborate with colleagues at all levels, including senior consultants and principals.
• Receive mentorship and actionable feedback to support your career development.
• Participate in meetings, training sessions, and social events designed for our interns.
• Build strong technical skills in Excel, R, Python, SQL, VBA, PowerBI, etc.
