HDR is seeking a Substation Project Manager to lead substation engineering projects on a national scale, with opportunities across multiple western states including Montana and Idaho. The role involves managing scope, schedule, budget, and team performance while engaging with clients and agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Minimum 2 years project management experience.
• Ability to interact with design teams and communicate effectively.
• Active active participation in employee‑owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead projects through the full lifecycle.
• Mentor and supervise project engineers, EITs, and support staff.
• Oversee workload, schedule, quality, and performance of team members.
• Coordinate non-engineering aspects: permitting, public involvement, real estate, and agency engagements.
• Lead QA/QC per HDR QMS and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Support client management and contribute to business development.
• Collaborate with regional leadership to plan hiring and team growth.
• Coordinate workshare across multiple offices to execute projects.
• Represent HDR in marketing and proposal development.
