Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Substation Project Manager to lead high voltage and EHV substation projects within the Power & Energy Management Team. You will manage the full project lifecycle, including budgets, forecasts, and KPIs, while coordinating with stakeholders and senior leadership.

The role emphasizes strategic guidance, risk mitigation, and strong QA/QC adherence to meet client expectations, with occasional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering, Construction Management or related field within the Power & Energy Market.
• 12 years of relevant post-education project management experience in the Power Delivery/Utility Industry
• Minimum of 5 years leading engineering/construction teams on medium to large electrical utility scale substations
• Knowledge of project management processes and tools: Contract Management, EV, Change, Risk, Schedule (Primavera P6 or equivalent), Financial Management
• Strong understanding of project delivery in the Power Delivery/Utility industry with leadership and communication skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities; ability to bridge business and project management
• Ability to work with senior management, subcontractors, consultants and staff; independent with QA/QC focus

Responsibilities

• Provide PM leadership for high voltage and EHV substation projects, including budgets, forecasts, margins and KPIs.
• Develop strategies to engage stakeholders and report project progress.
• Participate in pursuit/initiation activities including Go/No-Go decisions, contract reviews and risk mitigation.
• Lead contract negotiations and client presentations as needed.
• Drive technical reviews and select staff for required reviews; ensure QA/QC adherence.
• Provide inputs to multi-disciplinary teams and offer high-level strategic client advice.
• Lead and mentor assigned staff; update system documentation (RMP, PMP, QP, PSP, Communications Plan).
• Coordinate resource and subcontracting requirements with area/technical managers; ensure timely client communications.
