Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a Substation Engineer Intern to join the Grid division and support project teams in transmission, substation, distribution, renewable, and energy storage projects. You will assist senior engineers on calculations, designs, and specifications while gaining hands-on experience with AI-enabled tools and modern design practices.

The role emphasizes independence, proactive problem-solving, and timely delivery within a collaborative environment, targeting a summer 2027 start date.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a BS or MS degree with preference for E.E., M.E., A.E., or Ch.E. coursework.
• Proficiency in designing technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and 3D visualization.
• Strong organization, detail orientation, and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering calculations, specs, and designs.
• Support project reporting: track progress and data across tasks.
• Contribute to power equipment specifications and procurement support.
