Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Engineer Intern to join a Grid project team in the summer 2027 timeframe. You will assist senior engineers across transmission, substation, and renewable projects, applying engineering methods and AI-enabled tools to develop calculations, designs, and specifications.

Responsibilities include supporting project reports, design documentation and procurement specifications, while gaining hands-on experience under experienced mentors in a collaborative

Qualifications

Enrolled in BS/MS in engineering with strong STEM coursework.
ABET-accredited program preferred; coding and 3D design exposure valued.
Ability to visualize parts in 3D and work independently with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

Assist in engineering calculations, specifications and designs.
Support project reporting: track progress and data.
Prepare procurement specs for major electrical equipment and installation services.
