Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Tampa, FL is seeking a Substation Engineer Intern to join a project team in our Grid unit and assist senior engineers with project execution. You will help with electrical design tasks, calculations, specifications, and 3D visualization.

The role offers exposure to transmission, substation, distribution, renewables, and storage projects, plus AI-enabled tools and hands-on engineering experience in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a BS/MS degree with strong engineering focus.
• Knowledge of 3D drawings and design principles.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without CAD.
• Strong organization and detail orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in engineering calculations, specs and designs.
• Support project reporting and progress tracking.
• Prepare specs for procurement of major electrical equipment.
