Sargent & Lundy invites applications for a Substation Engineer Intern in their Grid business unit. You will assist senior engineers on projects involving transmission, substation, and energy storage systems, while developing skills in design calculations and AI-assisted workflows.

The role emphasizes hands-on experience, project reporting, and exposure to procurement specifications, with a target start date in summer 2027 and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a BS or MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering; coding, 3D modeling, and AI experience favored.
• Knowledge of producing technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and 3D visualization.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail; able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Ability to prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.
• Minimum GPA 3.0 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Track project progress and analyze activities and data.
• Prepare specifications for procurement of major electrical power equipment and related installation services.
