Job summary

Sargent & Lundy invites applications for a Substation Engineer Intern in our Grid business unit. This role supports senior engineers on projects involving transmission, substation, and energy storage systems, with a start target in summer 2027.

You will gain hands-on experience in calculations, design, and reporting while contributing to procurement and specifications for major electrical equipment. Applicants should be enrolled in BS/MS programs in Electrical/Mechanical/Aerospace/Chemical

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a BS or MS degree with strong preference in EE/ME/Aerospace/ChemEng and/or coursework including Coding, 3D Modeling/Design, and experience using agentic AI.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles for production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering calculations, specifications and designs.
• Contribute to project reporting, tracking progress and data.
• Prepare specifications for procurement of major electrical equipment and related installation services.
