Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Engineer Intern in Chattanooga, TN, to support a project team within the Grid business unit. You will assist in engineering calculations, specifications, and designs for transmission, substation, and renewable projects, under senior engineers’ guidance.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in BS/MS programs in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering with coursework in coding and 3D design, and familiarity with AI tools.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a BS or MS degree with preference for Electrical/Mechanical/Aerospace/Chemical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Work on project reporting including tracking progress and data evaluation.
• Prepare specifications for procurement of major electrical power equipment and related installation services.
