Job summary

Dashiell, an operating unit of Quanta Services, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to support design and analysis of substations. You will work with a project team to create wiring diagrams, BOMs, and field mark-ups under supervision.

This internship emphasizes hands-on training at site visits, applying NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards, and learning engineering software while contributing to project schedules.

Qualifications

• Working towards a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required, a power focus is preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related work experience in the power field is preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical AC/DC fundamentals.
• Knowledge of three phase power systems.
• Demonstrated communication skills, both verbally and written.

Responsibilities

• Create design documents, drawings, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials for substation projects.
• Perform engineering calculations: relay burden, load flow, short circuit calculations.
• Learn and apply engineering software for ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, and load flow studies.
• Complete tasks to meet engineering and design project schedules.
• Learn and apply NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards.
