Job summary

Dashiell Corporation, an operating unit of Quanta Services, seeks an Electrical Engineering Intern to assist on substation design projects and engineering tasks under supervision. You will gain hands-on experience with wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and field markups while applying NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI standards.

Applicants should be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (power focus preferred) and demonstrate strong problem solving, teamwork, and communication

Qualifications

• Working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; power focus preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical AC/DC fundamentals.
• Basic knowledge of three-phase power systems.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to work in a team.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Clear verbal and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating design documents and wiring diagrams for substation projects under supervision.
• Perform relay burden, load flow, short circuit calculations under supervision.
• Use engineering software for ground grid design and transformer sizing under supervision.
• Help meet project schedules and maintain design accuracy.
• Learn industry standards (NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, ANSI) and document management systems.
• Gain hands-on knowledge at job sites during site visits.
